Who we work with

Different sectors, different headaches. Here's what we usually walk into.

Do you need a mentor?

Marketing's a lot easier when you've got someone in your corner. If these sound familiar, you're in the right place
All three have the same fix. Somebody who's already been there supporting you, guiding you through and helping you develop.

Trusted by forward-thinking teams

What your sessions can cover

Five areas, plus whatever else you turn up with. Your mentor is matched to the one you need, not to whoever happens to be free.
Strategy and planning

What goes in the plan, what comes out of it, and how to decide. Written down so it holds up when somebody senior starts asking questions.

Channels and campaigns

Paid, organic, search, social, email. Whichever one you're judged on, looked at by someone who is running it right now.

Budgets and reporting

Where the money went, what came back, and how to say so out loud. Numbers a board will accept without you having to oversell them.

Managing people

Delegating, giving feedback, and the awkward conversations. None of it came up in the job that got you promoted.

Your own career

What the level above you is actually assessed on, what to learn next, and in what order. From someone already doing that job.

Or something else entirely

Most sessions wander across several of these anyway. Bring the thing that's actually bothering you and we'll match you to whoever knows it best.

Mentoring delivered by professionals who have been there

Get Versed came out of Rebellion Marketing, an agency our founder Jade Arnell built from a standing start to £1.7M turnover and sold in January 2025. She's launched four more businesses since, which tells you either that she's good at this or that she can't sit still. Probably both!

Every mentor we put in front of you is doing the job you want to be doing, right now. Not a trainer who used to do it, and not somebody at your own level comparing notes. Someone a level up, still in it, who can look at your actual account and tell you what they'd do.

20+ years in marketing. Agency side and in house, still doing the job.
Built from a standing start to a £1.7M exit. We've run the business, not just advised on one.
Mentors matched to you, so you're learning from someone who's been exactly where you are.
We've made every mistake going. You get the shortcut.

How it works

1 Before we start A discovery call

Forty five minutes. Where you are, where you want to be, and what's stopping you. We'll tell you honestly if mentoring isn't the answer.

2 Week one We match you to a mentor

Someone working at the level above you, in the part of marketing you need. Not whoever happens to be free.

3 Session one We agree the plan

What you're working towards, over what period, and how we'll know it's happening. Written down so neither of us can drift.

4 Every week, fortnight or month The sessions

Two hours each. Your real work, your real problems, and someone who'll tell you what they'd actually do about them.

5 All the way through The bit that makes it stick

Activities between sessions, support by phone and email, and someone to ask before you press send rather than after.

What you'll gain

Nobody can promise you a promotion but, these are the things that make one likelier!
Someone senior to ask The single biggest thing missing from most marketing jobs. Not a forum, not a podcast. A person who knows your situation.
Decisions you can back Not just what to do, but why, so you can defend it when somebody senior asks.
Work that gets looked at properly Real feedback on real campaigns, from someone with no reason to be polite about it.
A route to the next job The skills the level above you actually needs, taught by someone doing that job now.
Somewhere to say you're stuck Without it counting against you, going on a record, or turning into a performance conversation.
Whichever bits matter most to you, we'll know which ones after the assessment.

Your mentoring sessions unlocked

You bring the work. We'll tell you what we'd do.
A campaign before it goes out

Someone senior looking over it properly, while there's still time to change it.

A channel that's stopped working

Whether it's the channel, the message or the market, worked out before you throw more money at it.

The conversation you're dreading

A client, a boss, a supplier. What to say, and what to leave out.

A plan you'll be held to

Something you can defend when somebody asks where the budget went.

What to learn next

There's a lot out there. Which bits matter for the job you want, and in what order.

A promotion or an interview

What the level above you is actually assessed on, from someone already doing it.

Nothing in particular

Some sessions are just thinking out loud with someone who understands the job. Those are often the useful ones.

Frequently asked questions

How much does one to one marketing mentoring cost?

Mentoring starts at £750 plus VAT a month for one two hour session, rising to £1,500 a month for fortnightly sessions and £2,500 a month for weekly sessions with tailored activities. All three include support between sessions. There's no long tie in.

Who is marketing mentoring for?

Marketers at any level, from someone in their first marketing job to a head of department. It suits solo marketers with nobody senior to learn from, people recently promoted into a role nobody trained them for, and senior marketers who've run out of people willing to challenge them.

Who will my mentor be?

Someone currently working in marketing at the level above you, in the discipline you need. We match rather than allocate, so you're learning from a person who has done your job and now does the next one.

How long are the sessions?

Two hours each, delivered remotely. Monthly, fortnightly or weekly depending on the option you choose.

Is mentoring delivered remotely or in person?

Remotely as standard. It costs less, it's easier to schedule, and it means we can match you to the right mentor rather than the nearest one. In person is available and quoted separately.

What happens between sessions?

That depends on the option. Every level includes support by email, and the fortnightly and weekly options add telephone support and activities designed to embed what you covered. The point is that the learning doesn't stop when the call ends.

What's the difference between mentoring and a course?

A course teaches a subject. Mentoring looks at your actual work. Most people do both, using courses for the knowledge and mentoring to apply it to their own accounts, campaigns and problems.

Do I need to commit for a minimum period?

We recommend at least three months, because that's roughly how long it takes for anything to show. It's a monthly arrangement rather than a contract though, and you can change level or stop.

Can my employer pay for it?

Yes, and most do. We invoice the business directly and can provide whatever your finance team needs. It's also usually cheaper than hiring the seniority in.

Can mentoring be mapped to apprenticeship standards?

Yes. We can map our courses and mentoring to relevant apprenticeship standards where that's useful to an employer or a training provider. Raise it on the first call.
